An ImageJ plugin to filter XRD data with powder and grains
You can download my ImageJ plug-in to split the single crystal-like signal from the powder-like diffraction signal in diffraction contrast tomography datasets. This last version is more accurate than the previous one concerning the quality of the grains single crystal-like extracted.
In the .zip file you can download there's a good help file in html format, give it a read before using the plugin :) . In the .zip archive I've also included the .edf reader plug-in commonly sed here @ ESRF to open FreLon images with ImageJ.
For different formats you can easily adapt my script since it's in text format and well commented.

I think you can use this script in any series of diffraction images affected by the grainness problem, it should work much better that a simple thresholding procedure.

Just a few words of caution: this script will work perfectly in the case of an ideal random powder with few big grains in it, randomly oriented. The more you get far from this ideal case, the worse the results. As a matter of practice you should try to get a powder signal as much homogeneous as possible, and single grains spots as random as possible.

The on-line version of the help file is available here.
You can download the .zip file with all you need here.
